Stand-downs and suspensions
Cases per 1,000 students in 2025, adjusted for the ages of the school’s students, compared with all New Zealand schools.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Evaluation Report from February 2026. ERO found outcomes becoming fairer and stronger: fewer than a third of students arrive at expected levels in literacy and numeracy, but most gain the NCEA literacy and numeracy qualifications in their senior years, and a large majority gain NCEA Level 2.
ERO noted leaders who use data well, an increasingly settled and respectful school, strong processes for students who need extra learning support, clear senior pathways, and much wider participation in te reo Māori.
University Entrance results were low, outcomes for Māori learners were not yet consistently equitable, teaching quality varied, and fewer than half of students attended regularly, though attendance was improving.
ERO’s priorities for the school are to lift regular attendance and reduce chronic absence, strengthen teaching with a focus on classroom management, further embed literacy and numeracy strategies across subjects, and narrow its strategic and annual plan to a few clear, measurable goals.

Enrolling
Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol. Out-of-zone places are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme in a set order of priority, starting with siblings of current students, and by ballot when there are more applicants than places.
The scheme says the board announces the number of out-of-zone places, how to apply and the closing date by public notice each year, and the school’s site links to an online enrolment form and a zone map.
